Last October we were invited by Sacred Heart Convent (Junior School), Galle
Sri Lanka to visit them on the Children’s Day 2018 to introduce Karuta to their
grade 5 children.

We helped them to create their original English version of Karuta cards
themed around Japan, Sri Lanka and played karuta with their own cards.   
Everybody not only children but also teachers and supporting alumni
enjoyed the game with a lot of smiles. 

Just after the project another school invited us to visit them next year and 
our activities were covered by local papers as below.  So I felt sure 
karuta can be a new educational tool to promote understanding 
between the two countries.
